APP mentors aspiring USC engineering students
Aluminum Precision Products has been in the forging business for 50 years, celebrating their anniversary just this year. When approached by USC Engineering Professor, Ted Mayeshiba, to allow his students the opportunity to study APP’s production process Director of Engineering, John Haroldson, thought, “What better way to kick off the next 50 years of business”? The idea is for the student project team to get real world experience and a closer perspective of the effects of their designs.

The OC Register recently chronicled Aluminum Precision Products, Inc.’s 50 years of innovation in the forging industry. Today, with more than 1,000 employees and numerous major aerospace and automotive manufacturer customers, APP continues to make advancements in quality aluminum and titanium forgings.

2015 Paris Air Show
June 15-21, 2015 Aluminum Precision Products will be in Paris, France at the 51st International Paris Air Show. This is the largest and longest running aerospace trade show in the world. Stop by our booth B32 in Hall 2B if you’re at the show. Check our LinkedIn for pictures from the show.
2015 Marks 50th Year
2015 marks Aluminum Precision Products, Inc (APP)’s 50th year anniversary. Starting with one 8,000 sq ft facility and 10 employees in 1965, APP now has 3 California facilities with over 800 employees. In those fifty years, APP has become a world-class, vertically integrated manufacturer of forged, machined, finished and assembled components producing closed die and open die aluminum forgings and closed die titanium forgings for the world’s largest manufacturers in the aerospace, automotive, recreation, and industrial markets.
2012
Multiple aerospace elements from APP converged this year:
The Mars Rover is lowered to the surface of Mars from the Sky Crane, the base of which was produced out of an APP hand forging.
The Space Shuttle Endeavor lands for the last time in Los Angeles. The Shuttle, the 747 on which it rests, and each of the F-18 escort planes include integral parts forged at APP.
2010
On March 25, 2010, Aluminum Precision Products, Inc. (APP) announced to its employees its intention to gradually transfer the ownership of the company to its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, or ESOP.
